We are so excited about our new home! I took these photos the day we closed and couldn’t wait to share!
I’m also going to share a home tour video on Instagram stories this week, so be on the lookout for that as well. I’m going room by room, giving you all the deets. Once we are more settled, I’ll share details and photos of each room with you. Stay tuned!
Kitchen
Might be my favorite part of the house! I love how light and bright it is and hello double ovens. Eeek. We love spending time in the kitchen and absolutely love how it all came together. We bought these barstools for our island and can’t wait to see it all put together. There is also a huge walk in pantry with an outlet. Perfect for storing our Dyson cordless vacuum!
Keeping Room
How beautiful is this new light fixture we bought? I’m so excited to see this room come together. My dad added a table leaf for our dining table so we will now be able to comfortably seat 6 with two extra chairs in the wings.
Living Room
I love how open our floor plan is with so much natural light coming in from the windows! The trim work in the room is so beautiful and absolutely love the coffered ceiling and built ins. We also had the electricians put in a floor plug for additional lamp light.
Deck
One of my favorite things is to be outside! I’m so excited for our outdoor living space right off of our living room. As soon as Michael saw the fireplace option he had to have it. I think it really finishes off the space. We have been waiting to buy a nice outdoor furniture set and I’m glad we waited. We bought this set right after we went under contract and we are absolutely in love with it! We’ve also met with a contractor about screening in the deck. What do you think? Screen or no screen? Would love any feedback, especially if you live in the South. We also had the builder put in stairs so that Maci can easily run in and out of the house to the yard.
Mud Room
When I saw the built in mud room option in the model home I knew I had to have it. Can’t wait for our baby boy’s tiny little backpack to hang on these hooks.
Main Floor Guest Bedroom
One of my favorite things about this house is that there is a main floor guest bedroom. Especially when our baby boy comes this will make having our family and friends staying with us more pleasant! Since we don’t have any family in Georgia a guest bedroom is a must for us.
Laundry Room
The laundry room is accessible from our master bathroom and hall way! Doing laundry has never been so convenient. I’m also so excited to have built in cabinets and a sink in our laundry room. This will make spot cleaning and soaking out stains so much easier! My dad has already installed a clothes rack for hang drying and a shelf for our laundry baskets.
Master Bedroom
Our master bedroom and closet are hardwood, which we love! We recently bought this rug and can’t wait for it to come in! The room has plenty of natural light and I love the ceiling trim detail. The bathroom is gigantic with so much counter space and the walk-in shower even has a full ledge. Perfect for shaving those legs! We also took down the ceiling fan and replaced it with this dreamy chandelier!
Master Bedroom Closet
When we saw how large our his and her walk-in closet was we knew we wanted to make sure we optimized the space. We had design appointments with three different companies. We met with Artisan closets last and fell in love with their design and process. We also loved that they were local. We had our custom closets installed the day we moved in and we’re so happy!
Nursery
I’m sure this room will quickly become one of my favorites once it all comes together. With only one window we felt this was the perfect room for a nursery! I’ve linked everything we’ve already purchased. I’ll be sharing sneak peeks of his nursery over on Instagram. I’m so glad we have several months to work on this room before he comes!
Home Office
Since I work from home having a room for my office was a must. It’s important to me to have a space that I can go to everyday and feel productive. With three huge windows this room was it! The closet alone is large enough for me to fit my whole office into! For now, this room will be our shared office space then transition to our office/playroom when our baby boy is a bit older.
Second Guest Bedroom
Until we have our second baby we will have a second guest bedroom upstairs. We are going to use the bed I had when I was a teenager and the pull out couch that we used to have in our master. One of my college besties and my sister and her family are staying with us during my baby shower this summer, so this space will be the perfect for our first guests. We can’t wait to have visitors!
Garage
We’re excited for our extra wide two car garage and love the staircase detail leading to the house. We’re only keeping a few things we use most often and everything else will be in the basement. It’s so nice having a clean and clear garage!
Basement
Having a basement was not on our must have list initially, but we are super excited about this space. For now, it will serve as an extra-large storage unit where we can keep things nice and organized. It will be nice to have things laid out and easy to find instead of having to go up into our attic for everything. Since the main house is more than double the size of our current townhome we don’t have any plans to finish out the basement.
Patio
The patio is where we will keep the grill. Since we will spend most of our time on the deck we just put the two chairs we had on our previous patio down there.
Now that I’ve shared our home with you I would love to know what’s your favorite thing about your home?
These last couple of months have been a whirlwind! Late nights, hard conversations, our family making sacrifices, watching Maci, packing over 150 boxes, unpacking, and cleaning our home! We truly couldn’t have done it all without you!
Thank you for following along! Remember to tune into Instagram stories this week for the full video home tour!
We truly feel so blessed to start this next chapter in our lives!
Inspired, Maryashley
