Right when we found out we were pregnant I knew I wanted to find out the gender as soon as we could! So many of you have asked if we wanted a boy or a girl and honestly as cliché as it sounds we just want a healthy baby! I was so thankful both of us felt this way.
During our first ultrasound appointment we asked our Dr. when the soonest we could find out the gender. By doing blood testing it automatically reveals the gender. I wanted to get the baby and myself tested anyway so we agreed to do the blood testing at week 10.
The results came back much sooner than we anticipated, but waited patiently since we already had our gender reveal party planned.
Now to the fun part! The gender reveal party! We actually went back and forth several times on what exactly we wanted to do. Since Michael’s birthday fell on the same weekend that we wanted to announce we were pregnant we thought about just telling our friends and family that we were celebrating Michael’s birthday and when everyone arrived to surprise them with not only the sex, but that we were pregnant! Well the more we thought about that the harder and harder it got to wait to tell our families and friends! We’re always on the go and it was getting harder and harder to fake drink so we started slowly telling our families and friends! It was so fun to see everyone’s surprised reactions.
We decided to do a gender reveal party and I immediately got on Pinterest. I saw the sweetest donut themed brunch party and knew that’s what I wanted. From there it all fell into place. We were so glad we ended up having a true gender reveal party! For those of you reading on the fence it was so special and a day we won’t forget!
Once I picked the theme I immediately started visualizing how to invite guests and what to eat and sip on. I’ll be sharing the vendors I used and my feedback on them all!
Donut Themed Party Invite
My sister’s talented friend, Gabby of @happygabbyco designed my invites. I sent her snapshots of inspiration and she ran with it and came up with this design. It was absolutely perfect the first time around and she was so easy to work with. Once she provided me the image I uploaded the image to Paperless Post, which was so easy and free. I highly recommend using her for graphic designing invitations and holiday cards!
Custom Donut Sugar Cookies by Pastry Shells
Made by my sweet friend, Shelly of @pastryshells. Once I had a theme and plan for the party I wanted my guests to take home something sweet and immediately thought of my friend Shelly! She actually lived above us at our old apartment community. We met at the pool and was intrigued by her background. At the time she was a full-time engineer by day and worked on her business making cakes and cookies at night and on the weekends. Fast forward a couple of years and she has taken on Pastry Shells full time! She was so excited when I told her our little secret well before most knew and agreed to make our cookie favors. The attention to detail and absolute perfection blows me away. Not only are her sugar cookies beautiful, they are also so yummy! She even individually wraps them making for the perfect party favors! Y’all if you’re looking for custom cakes and cookies, Shelly is your go to girl! Thank you again Shelly! We can’t wait to use you for years to come.

Custom Donuts by Bon Glaze
I stumbled across Bon Glaze by doing a Google search for custom donuts in the Atlanta area. I was in the area and brought by a photo of exactly what I wanted and placed my order on the spot. They even gave me a free donut to try! It was so good, but without knowing anything about them I was still nervous about the final product. Boy was I blown away! Michael picked up the donuts the morning of the party. They were perfectly made that morning and they even gave us more than we had ordered. Exactly what I wanted and y’all I’m not even exaggerating when I tell you they are by far my favorite donut in Atlanta. If you know me well you know I’ve tried so many throughout the city! Thank you, Bon Glaze. If you’re looking for custom donuts or have a donut craving Bon Glaze is your spot!
Gender Reveal Confetti Champagne Bottle
I told my dear friend, Judy, exactly what I wanted to reveal the gender at the party and how hard of a time I was having finding anything like it. Well not even a week before the party she texted me, look what I found! She found the exact confetti champagne popper I was looking for at Walmart! The next day we went and bought three. One for a practice round and one for a boy and one for a girl! The day of the party, Judy opened the envelope and set out the correct confetti bottle. Thank you, Judy, for making it so special!
Brunch
We wanted some brunch style food to go along with the donuts so we went to Costco and bought mini quiche bites, a variety of fresh fruit. Also picked up 4 dozen donut holes Krispy Kreme.
Drinks
I wanted people to enjoy mimosas, unsweet ice tea, and water with lemon. We bought the Costco Prosecco and it was a hit! My friend even brought me some FRE non-alcoholic champagne and as you can tell by the look on my face I was pumped!
