If know us, you know that Michael and I jump on any opportunity to celebrate! This celebration was a little different and one we will never forget! We had spent some time thinking about how we would like to celebrate our third wedding anniversary. Since we had just gotten back from Italy, Myrtle Beach and Charlotte, and had a trip to Chicago planned, we wanted to stay close to home.
We choose to celebrate at The Decatur Alpaca Cottage, an Airbnb Plus with Alpacas close to Atlanta but far enough away! It was truly perfect. The hum of the alpacas, the wind in the trees, and a happy backyard chicken flock provide peace and tranquility. Relax with a glass of wine or a hot cup of coffee on the screened porch or stroll through the gardens. Wherever you go, there is beauty all around.
Once we arrived we immediately felt right at home! The one-bedroom cottage was so comfortable and cozy, with a well-stocked kitchen filled with local Georgia snacks, wine, beer, chocolates, fresh eggs, soft alpaca blankets and a plush bed. Marykay also added fresh red roses to the side of our bed, which was such a nice touch to our anniversary celebration!
After we settled in a bit we couldn’t wait for our private Alpaca Experience. A 1-hour experience where you get to feed and love on the alpacas, a lama named Beau, and a beautiful flock of chickens! You learn about their diet, habits, and their unique personalities! We even got to see the colorful eggs the flock of chickens lay. My favorite was the pink eggs, of course!
